Deion Sanders' wife sues for $200 million

Deion Sanders' wife Pilar Sanders is seeking $200 million in damages claiming that her husband and others are responsible for her emotional and physical abuse as well as mental distress, financial loss and public humiliation for an alleged assault incident as well as slanderous comments that were posted online one of which is a tweet calling her "the number one gold digger of the year".   Although her attorney claims that the suits are unrelated to the couple's divorce case filed by Deion Sanders in December, we tend to disagree.

Is her reputation really worth $200 million? Visit our Facebook Page to post your comment on this article.

Guide to Prenuptial Agreements

We hope that all the couples satisfactorily got through Valentine's Day last month.  And congrats to everyone that recently got engaged or married.  Although marriage remains to be a loving contract between two people who want to spend the rest of their lives together, in the eyes of the law, it is a contract involving a variety of financial rights and obligations. When it comes to creating a prenuptial agreement, marriage should be approached as a "business venture" where both parties secure their rights and obligations against unforeseen circumstances. It is also important to understand that such an agreement is an essential part of a marriage contract, for both your future husband or wife-to-be as well as yours.

Contact our firm at (215) 942-2100 in order to understand the different kinds of issues that might be covered in a pre-nuptial agreement.

ATTENTION!

I-601 Provisional Waiver Is Not in Effect

USCIS recently informed that the I-601 Provisional Waiver for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens is not yet in effect.  USCIS clearly instructed the public not to send an application requesting provisional waiver, as it will not process such applications until a final rule is issued and the process change becomes effective. USCIS plans to publish a notice of proposed rulemaking in the coming months and will consider all comments received as part of that process before publishing a final rule.

We suggest that those potentially affected by this proposed regulation to remain well-informed by going to a trusted, reliable source.  Please contact our office at (215) 942-2100 for further information regarding this or similar immigration issues.

Lenders New Approach Help Defaulted Owners

Impacted by today's real estate market, lenders are forced to become more flexible with defaulting homeowners and help slow down the nation's foreclosure process by incorporating a new strategy and approach to allow homeowners to remain in their homes claiming that leaving a defaulted borrower in their home who at least maintains the property, is better than dealing with vandalized properties and bitter feelings between banks and borrowers.

Their change in attitude and willingness to compromise to keep houses occupied is a great new way of assisting with our nation's harsh real estate market.  What's your opinion?  Visit our Facebook page to post your comment on this article.

Divorce: Wanting to "Win" Results in Major Loss

Many couples who decide to end their marriage worry about expensive attorney's fees that are associated with the process.  What they don't realize is that the greatest contributing factors to mounting legal expenses are their own emotions.  Vengeance, jealousy and wanting to "win" are the reasons that most contested divorces become costly.  Sticky custody battles and division of property down to the second set of flatware cause those big numbers, not necessarily your attorney.  The more you need from the legal world, the more it costs and if emotions are blocking efficient negotiation, you can bet the process will be long and arduous for everyone.  Emotions shouldn't be locked away, but finding the appropriate time to handle them is crucial in saving your sanity and your money.  There is no sense in rehashing your fears; be proactive about your divorce and help prevent serious costs in the long run.
